Afternoon Nostalgia

Sorry for being a little delinquent on the updates.

Was just talking to a friend earlier and it made me think of a New Top 5. We were recounting the great stories and episodes of that great 1970's hit and 80's rerun blockbuster "What's Happening". I mean hands down just a class act of a show. The cast was terrific, the catch phrases awesome...."No Roger No ReRun No Rent!", "Ooooh Rog, you're gonn get it".

The point that was made was that every episode was the same yet we still watched it every day after we came home from doing whatever it was we did in the afternoons after school. It never failed, the suburban white kids had a block of reruns from like 5-7 like no other. I mean did any of us ever even watch these shows when they were in Primetime?

So with that, I give you my Top 5. i think we could even do a Top 10, so if anyone wants to chime in with that, more power.

The Top 5 1980's After School Re-Runs
5) Facts of Life - one word, Blair
4) Different Strokes - Whatchu Talkin About Willis?
3) What's Happenin? - The Greatest Fat Jokes ever told, and how 'bout that ReRun dance
2) Saved by the Bell - trite story lines, and predictable outcomes, but Jesse and Kelly??
1) Three's Company - I mean who wasn't waiting for that Chrissy on Janet lesbian scene

So there you have it. We could get into the hour long shows like A-Team, and Knight Rider, and Batman, but that is just a whole other discussion altogether.

News & Notes
I work right next to Madame Teuseau's and yesterday they had Michael Jackson out front. yet there was no little boy next to him...surprising.

I was watching a story about that teenager in Aruba, and one of the guys in custody was named van Der Loot. I mean first rule, never hang out with anyone named van Der Loot.

Can anyone tell me what the Yankees are smokin?

Holzer's Birthday Party is tonight. I heard he did a mass email on JDate.

Yet another great story on front page of Yahoo! - Brain Cells 'Recognize' Famous People. Now that's awesome

A quick note on Saved by the Bell. The show ran from 1989-93, and was preceded by a show called Good Morning Miss Bliss which starred Belding, Zach, Screech, and Lisa Turtle. That ran from 1987-89.

Yes, i was tempted by several Golden Girls episodes
